The “student awakenings” program is divided into two sections. The Alexandre Ngamije, a rotary scholar from Rwanda, identifies at risk students in Africa. He gathers a photos and biographies of these students to post on the website.
The other section is devoted to spreading domestic awareness. We are currently finalizing a web-based curriculum that would help middle school educators plant a seed of humanitarianism in their students by spreading awareness and providing constructive outlets for students to actively participate in global solutions to problems. Through first educating students about unseen international issues and then connecting them to the students abroad, the often dismissed middle school students can learn to contribute to a humanitarian based global society.
Through the contributions of private donations and the money raised by the middle school students, these at risk students can afford to attend school.
